I haven't seen U till now. But, U may please provide a proper solution for this problem by either ur writings in Manorama or by return mail. Waiting for your mail......Regards,Kiran K. S.
Answer : SRI SRI : It is the desire that tires you - the 'want' in the mind. Your mind tires you more than the physical work. If you are willing to do some work, even 15 hours at a stretch, it will not tire you but if you are not willing and you have to work even for four hours, it will tire you. For eg , you have a party at home or you are arranging Onam /Vishu decorations. So you may work many late hours but still not feel tired. You feel good about it. But you work in some place you don't like, you'd like to have four coffee or tea breaks and even then you feel it's tiring! Don't do any work at all. Just sit and go on thinking. You'll be terribly exhausted. For many people, the tiredness and exhaustion comes from thinking and worrying, not by working. Thinking you need rest makes you restless. Thinking you have to work hard makes you tired. Thinking you have worked hard brings self pity. So, learn some techniques which will give you deep rest, deeper than sleep. Deeper your rest, you can be more dynamic .

Question by: Dr.Geetha
Even though I have strong belief in GOD,when I face misfortunes in life,I feel depressed and worried.I faced many tragedies in life and overcame all these with the help of GOD without much side effects.I did nt get a Job, eventhough highly qualified. How can I get peace in mind with all worries in life.
Answer : SRI SRI : The way to overcome personal misery is to share universal misery! The way to expand personal joy is to share universal joy. Instead of thinking "what about me?" "what can I gain from this world?" think "what can I do for the world?" When everyone comes from the point of contributing to society, you have a Divine society. We have to educate and culture our individual consciousness in order to expand in time with the Knowledge . . . from "what about me?" to "what can I contribute?"

An engineer from IIT, now a farmer

One of the most interesting themes at this year's Pan-IIT event was the session on rural transformation. IITians who have chosen an offbeat career hogged the limelight at the event.

Morning Bliss!

Posted in

Morning drives are always unexplainably fascinating to me, especially after the late night shifts (Coz that is the only time I see the beauty of the morning ;) ). Even after lots of ciaos at office, I felt very grateful when sitting in the cab on the way back from office. I had lots of energy which made me to think that I can even sit in the office for another 12hrs. The cravings and complaints I had yesterday in the office were simply vanished. Mornings has some magic in it, which makes me so happy for no reason. I wish every moment in my life be like the morning bliss. I may have been getting irritated with some crazy dreams otherwise in the morning. So this morning drive was indeed a blissful to me.

I can never forget the early morning drives in Hosur road, never use to feel sleepy or tiered when coming back to home from office after the late night shifts. Never use to get scared even if the cab driver is driving between two heavily loaded biiig trucks in the morning.

Watching dew drops in the morning was another unexplainable experience. Hope to get those days back soooon..

'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Beaches of Kannur, Kerala

Posted in

Payyambalam Beach is a beach in Kannur district of Kerala that attracts tourists and local people. It often finds mention in tourism related publications as a beautiful beach. It has now a garden close to it. The beach is just 2 km from Kannur town. A sculpture Mother and Child by Kanayi Kunhiraman is an attractive feature of the beach garden. A part of the garden is especially for children.

Baby Beach:
It is called so as it is smaller than its bigger neighborhood, Payyambalam Beach. The famous St. Angelo Fort is adjacent to it.

Meenkunnu Beach:
Situated at Azhikode, it is hardly a few kilometers from the town. The virgin beach is a tourist’s paradise with golden sand and surf.

Mopila Bay:
Situated near the St. Angelo’s Fort. The Kadalayi Fort and Sree Krishna Temple were quite famous. The remnants of the fort and the temple are still seen in Mopila Bay. A fishing harbour, built with Indo Norwegian project assistance, can be seen at this bay. Boating in the sea, if the weather permits, will be an unforgettable experience.

Kizhunna Ezhara Beach: 11 km from kannur, this beautiful stretch of sand is one of the most secluded beaches in kerala.

Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach: A long clean beach, its enchanting ambiance invites you to swim, sunbathe or just lounge around. It is Kerala’s only drive-in beach and one could drive the entire length of 4 km. Muzhappilangad beach is situated about 5 km north of Thalassery and 15 km from Kannur. There is an unpaved road winding through coconut groves, leading to the beach. The beach is about 5 kilometers long and curves in a wide area providing a good view of Kannur beach on the north. To the South and about 200 metres away from the beach there is a beautiful island called the "Green Island" which adds to the allure of the beach. Such a conjunction of beach and island is rare.

Dharmadam Island: (100 metres away from the mainland at Dharmadam): The small 5 acre (20,000 m²) island covered with coconut palms and dense bushes is a beautiful sight from the Muzhappilangad beach. During low tide, one can just walk to the island from the beach. It is surrounded by rivers and seas. Permission is required to enter this privately owned island. Dharmadam, earlier known as Dharmapattanam was a Buddhist stronghold.

"Not-interested- in-voting- for-anyone" ?

Got this mail from BM Yahoo Group:

Please Read this its very important and Necesary to change our system!!!! CHANGE is the Keyword Did you know the power of registering your vote as "Not-interested- in-voting- for-anyone" ? read the below! As per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone! Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O". Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them.

This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public.... Please spread this news to as many as you know... Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on... "Please forward this mail to as many as possible, so that we, the people of India , can really use this power to save our nation". Use your voting right for a better INDIA.

Ayurveda - the heritage way of health care

Posted in

Ayurveda is not only the science of preventive health and healing, but also the philosophy of living. It is not merely a system of treating by symptoms; rather curing by removing the cause of malady from the rich legacies left us by Rishis, the holy bards of ancient India.

As a treatment method, it is based on the theory of "tridosham" by which we can assess the condition of the body, and can select the drug and method of treatment

Ayurveda has a well-developed materia medica, describing more than 1,500 plants.

In Sanskrit, the word Ayurveda comprises the words āyus, meaning 'life' and veda, meaning 'science'. The earliest literature of Ayurveda appeared during the Vedic period. The Sushruta Samhita and the Charaka Samhita were influential works on traditional medicine during this era. Ayurvedic practitioners also identified a number of medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for curing various ailments and diseases.

The concept of Panchakarma is believed to eliminate toxic elements from the body.

Eight disciplines of Ayurveda treatment, called Ashtanga are given below:

Surgery (Shalya-chkitsa).
Treatment of diseases above the clavicle (Salakyam).
Internal medicine (Kaya-chikitsa).
Demonic possession (Bhuta vidya): Ayurveda believes in demonic intervention and—as a form of traditional medicine—identifies a number of ways to counter the supposed effect of these interferences. Bhuta vidya has been called psychiatry.
Paediatrics (Kaumarabhrtyam).
Toxicology (Agadatantram).

Prevention and building immunity (rasayanam).
Aphrodisiacs (Vajikaranam).

Some Ayurvedic Tips:

Mixture of equal quantities of honey and ginger juice is a good expectorant. It gives immediate relief in symptoms like cold, cough, sore throat, congestion of chest and runny nose.

Mix half a gram of black pepper powder with honey and ginger juice mixture (equal quantity). Take this mixture at least three times a day. It helps to cure asthma

Search For Meaning - Bharat Uday Mission

Posted in

Now days, we are talking about political change in India. Bharat Uday Mission aims at creating a political party. I came to know about this from orkut. Bharat Uday Mission chapters are there in most of the cities.
Twenty one-year-old Saurabh is on a mission. Bharat Uday Mission. The only goal of Bharat Uday Mission — or BM, as it is called — is to wipe every tear from every eye as far as possible, first in India and, if possible, in the whole world, through an ideal combination of spiritual, social, economic and political means.

BM originated at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur in October 2004. The idea is simple. ‘Gain the confidence of the masses through social work’. And in a few years time, form a political party with a difference. A party that will ensure that by 2030, all Indians breathe in a socially, economically and spiritually developed country.

We have two choice

1. Ignore this telling India will not change.

2. Get involved

What if you can go back to future or past of your wish?

The Time Machine is a novella by H. G. Wells, first published in 1895 and later directly adapted into at least two feature films. This is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposefully and selectively

Scientist and inventor, Alexander Hartdegen, is determined to prove that time travel is possible. His determination is turned to desperation by a personal tragedy that drives him to want to change the past. Testing his theories with a time machine of his own invention, Hartdegen is hurtled 800,000 years into the future.
